Another automatic land-yacht I drove in america. This left me unimpressed, after an incident on the freeway. I emergency-braked due to sudden traffic buildup. This appears to have triggered the fuel-cutoff switch (or possibly stalled the engine, though this seems unlikely in an automatic). With the engine stalled, the power-assisted brakes disappeared rapidly, along with the steering. And, in the heat of the moment, the car was impossible to restart, as automatics refuse to let you do so unless in Park or Neutral. So I coasted onto the hard shoulder with difficult brakes and steering, and was finally able to think this through and re-start the engine.
